Exclusive Interview with Paul Smolinksi, Managing and Operations Director for Leading Welsh Business Network Introbiz  and Wales’ Biggest Business Expo #IntrobizExpo2017…

The Business News Wales interview date was 9TH OCTOBER 2017

Business News Wales has interviewed Paul Smolinksi, Managing and Operations Director for Introbiz. He talks to us about the upcoming Introbiz Expo in Cardiff in November and gives an insight in to what visitors can expect. He also tells us who some of the influential entrepreneur speakers are and the topics that they will be covering.

Can you give our readers a little background info on yourself and your role within Introbiz?

I come from a retail background. I worked in a variety of stores for many years, met Tracey in 2010 at a polo event and after a few years of persuasion, I left the world of retail and joined Introbiz and haven’t looked back.

Every day is completely different at Introbiz. We host weekly business networking events, so I’ll work to ensure that these run smoothly and efficiently and that our members are connected with their target audience. I also founded the Introbiz Expo, and this is a huge operation within itself.

Tell us a little bit more about the Introbiz Expo 2017?

The Introbiz Expo will be held at the Motorpoint Arena Card

iff on Thursday, 2nd November and promises to be bigger and better than our previous years. This is our sixth consecutive Expo and we’re welcoming over 200 exhibitors from a range of industries and sectors, 5,000 visitors as well as 10 world renowned keynote speakers who’ll be sharing their wealth of knowledge and advice.

The day will begin bright and early with a networking breakfast where the exhibitors, speakers, sponsors and visitors can enjoy a cooked breakfast whilst networking with each other, a free speed networking session, 10 free seminars hosted by the likes of Google, WebBox Digital Superbowl, Prodec, Creo and many more. The day will close with an exclusive VIP after party held at the Novello Suite within the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff where guests can enjoy a delicious 3-course meal and an evening filled with entertainment, all to raise money for our chosen charity. The after after party will be held at The Dead Canary. It promises to be a fantastic day for both Welsh and international businesses.

What can exhibitors and visitors expect from the event?

Visitors can expect to learn plenty of business advice and tips that’ll hopefully benefit their own businesses and it’s a great opportunity to browse the stands for potential products and services. The exhibitors can benefit from great quality leads, connecting with potential buyers face to face and just generally sharing industry advice with the general public.

What speakers can we expect to see at the event?

We have a wealth of speakers at the Expo this year. We’re extremely excited to welcome BBC’s The Apprentice winner, Mark Wright to Wales, former Olympic athletes Jamie Baulch and Christian Malcolm, The Secret actress, Marie Diamond, young entrepreneur, Ben Towers, the Entrepreneur’s Godmother, Alison Edgar, British adventurer, Maria Leijerstam, business junkie and founder of constructaquote.com, Lyndon Wood, founder of Introbiz, Tracey Smolinski and CEO of #BeTheSpark, Caroline Thompson. We’ll be revealing more over the coming weeks.

What topics will be covered the event by the speakers?

The speakers will be discussing all manner of business related topics – from marketing and social media promotion to sharing the stories of their successes. There’ll be topics covered that are relevant to everyone so there’s lots of tips on hand. Make sure you take plenty of notes!

How many years has Introbiz been running for?

Introbiz has been running since 2009 and has grown from strength to strength. We have hundreds of members within the network from a range of industries and sectors and they’re all looking to expand their networks. The Introbiz Expo was born in 2012 – we’re passionate about connecting and helping businesses to reach their target audiences.

How much will tickets cost and what do they include?

It’s completely free to visit the Introbiz Expo – we’re encouraging everyone to register their attendance beforehand via our website but you’re more than welcome to drop by on the day.

What do you think are the most important qualities for success in business?

I think it’s extremely important to be organised and to prepare for all possible eventualities when it comes to running a business. Every day is completely different so having an open mind and being open to change is imperative.

What are your top three tips for success?

My top three tips for success is to be organised, have a positive attitude and be prepared to work hard.

What do you think Wales’ strengths and weaknesses are as a place to do business?

People and businesses in Wales offer fantastic services and there are so many fabulous brands and very much are about helping each other. We’re a close knit community but sometimes, I feel that we think locally rather than globally. We have some of the most amazing brands and companies in Wales but many people don’t think to go outside of Wales, when actually, there is a world of opportunity further afield – the world is full of opportunities!
